English Cocker Spaniel

The temperament of an English Cocker Spaniel is very active, playful and intelligent and can be rather wilful at times.  Its enthusiastic nature is demonstrated by its tail, which wags furiously most of the time, especially when the dog is on the move, or working in the field.

The name Cocker comes from their use to hunt woodcock in England, although English Cockers have been used to hunt many other types of birds as well. They make great companion dogs for people who can give them the exercise they need.
